Ants, Bombs, Biosphere
The Desert Guide was a vital component of Advanced Studio VI: Desert Power. It invited students to each focus on a site of their choosing - located along the studio's Spring travel itinerary, a roadtrip from Tucson to Las Vegas - and an associated desert phenomena as a provisional primer to the actual journey. Chapter 2: Ants, Bombs, Biosphere is an oblique and intensive juxtaposition. It operates on the edge of fact, fiction, history and quintessentially American mythologies.
